Digital media event of the year – NMK Forum07

03/13/2007 by simoncollister 1 Comment

NMK Forum 07

Well I have to say that is NMK Forum 07 the best digital event of the year because I’m helping the lovely people at New Media Knowledge promote it – but by gosh it is going to be a fantastic event.

I would urge anyone with more than a passing interest in digital and social media and the direction it is going in 2007 to sign-up or at least pop over to the website to see what it’s about.

However, in a nutshell NMK Forum07 is a one-day event that features four keynote speakers; a number of top-notch panel discussion plus a live back-channel to enable delegate participation.

The three keynotes confirmed so far are a major coup and include:

  • Jason Calacanis – “Entrepreneur In Action” at Sequoia Capital, Silicon Valley’s leading venture capital firm;
  • Dan “We, the media” Gillmor – director of the Center for Citizen Media at the University of California, Berkeley and also at the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University Law School;
  • Jyri Engestrom – co-founder of jaiku.com, a mobile docial software startup. He is also Founder and Vice-Chairman of Aula Network, a non-profit organisation to advance the vision of a creative society.

With one more keynote to be confirmed and panellists being rounded-up for the event it is shaping up to be a quality day-out.

Bloggers that download the NMK Forum07 widget and link to the NMK Forum07 page also qualify for a tidy 5% discount off their qualifiying admission price for the event.

Not only that, but we’ve got aneat venuee that is providing bags of space for computer-users to unload their technological paraphenalia and blog from where they’re sat.

Oh, what more can I say…? It’s going to be quality. See you there.
