I don't have my paperwork to hand, but do recall achieving one change.

There had been mention of deep linking as a practice to be discouraged in the draft; this was removed by the time the guidelines were published. (You may not even know about this issue: it exercised people about 10 years ago. No deep linking, no Google.)
